What is a Driving Licence?
Driving licence, or officially known as Driver's Licence, is a document issued by the competent traffic management institutions that allows individuals to manage motorised or non-motorised land vehicles such as cars, buses, tractors travelling on the highway by the competent institutions and can also serve as an identity document. With the regulation made on 01/01/2016, old type driving licences were converted into new type driving licences. It is aimed to complete the replacement of all old type driving licences until 31 December 2020. The renewed driver's licence classes are classified in 16 different categories. These are called M, A1, A2, A, B1, B, BE, C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, DE, F class driver's licences.
What are the Scopes of the New Driver's Licence Classes?
Many new regulations have been made in the new driver's licence classes. Among these, there are articles related to additional loads attached to vehicles and trailers to be attached. In some driving licence classes, age limits have been changed and experience requirements have been introduced. For example, while class B drivers used to drive a minibus directly; now, those who will get a driving licence for the first time cannot drive without reaching a certain period of experience. In addition, a certain validity period has been added to all driving licences. At the end of this period, those who want to get a driving licence have to apply again.
The H class driving licence issued for the disabled has been abolished. Instead, the person's disability status is indicated on the driving licence. An automatic gear driver's licence has also been added and those who apply for the first time will be able to apply for an automatic gear driver's licence if they wish.
